Door Pop on Sudley

By Assistant Chief Tom Wood
October 13, 2012

At approximately 1415, units from Stonewall, Manassas, and Bristow were dispatched to Box 1123 for a reported accident with entrapment at Sudley and Sudley Manor. Callers advised a multi-vehicle accident with one patient still trapped in a vehicle.

BC501Y arrived and found 3 vehicles with one off the road. The driver of one vehicle was bleeding from a head injury and the door could not be opened. BC501Y established Sudley Command and directed T511 to conduct the door pop, also having RS501 stage in case additional tools or manpower were needed. No other patients presented.

A511 and M511 began assessing the patient while T511 made a hasty door pop. The patient was removed to a backboard and transported by M511 to Prince William Hospital.

All units cleared the scene at approximately 1445.

Units: E511, T511, A511, M511, BC501Y (Wood)
