By Truck Lieutenant Jeb Benzing
January 28, 2007

At 0416 hours, units from Company 11 were dispatched to Box 1115 for a reported Commercial Building fire at Global Foods off of Festival Lane. Communications advised units they had received reports of fire showing from the rear of the structure and that it was possibly cardboard boxes on fire. W511 and T511 arrived on scene at side C of the structure to find a large pile fo cardboard boxes fully involved against the outside of the structure, extending well over the roof of the builiding. W511's crew initiated a fire attack while T511's crew made their way to the roof to check for extension.
The fire was quickly knocked down by W511's crew while crews from 1, 9 and 25 checked the interior for any extension and assisted with ventilation and overhaul. There was no extension and the smoke condition on the interior was quickly resolved. The scene was eventually turned over to the Fire Marshal's Office for investigation.
