Duty Crews
Our station is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year by career and volunteer personnel. The Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department provides career staff Monday though Friday from 0600 to 1800 and 24-hour Advanced Life Support crew. Volunteers staff the station in the evenings from 1800 to 0600, all weekends, and all holidays. We have six weeknight duty crews (Sunday–Friday), and four weekend duty crews (Crew A–Crew D).
Upon acceptance into our organization, you will be assigned to one weeknight and one weekend duty crew. SJVFD has 6 weeknight crews and 4 weekend crews.

You will be required to attend your weeknight and weekend duty crew or find a fill-in unless prior arrangements have been made with your duty officer.
