At 1531 hrs, Prince William County Communications alerted units from the 1st and 4th battalion and the City of Manassas to a detached garage fire in the Yorkshire area of Manassas. First arriving units found a detached garage approximately 20'x20' in size and approximately 20' from an occupied 1 story dwelling fully involved with some extension into the dwelling. Engine 509 performed a quick blitz attack on the garage from the exterior, knocking down the bulk of the fire. A second line was pulled to extinguish the fire that had spread to the dwelling and third line was pulled by E511 to take into the garage and mop up hot spots. T511 and R501 performed a quick interior search of the dwelling and opened up in the area affected by the fire spread. The fire was held to the exterior of the dwelling with a small amount of extension into the eaves.
