Application Process

Once you complete your online application one of our Human Resources specialists will review it and determine your eligibility. If they determine you are eligible they will contact you and schedule an interview.

A panel of our current active members including an HR specialist, a Company Officer, and at least one Operational Member will interview you. A 2nd HR specialist will then complete the administrative functions of the interview:

  • Sign your application
  • Obtain a copy of your ID
  • Obtain your fingerprints
  • Run your DMV record
  • Issue your “30-Day Cards”

Card Member Process: If you successfully completed the interview process you will be issued your “30-day cards” or “Blue Cards”.  There is a card for each night of the week; currently Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri. You will need to come and meet the members on each night after 6pm. This is where you make your first impression to the membership of the department, and where they gain their first impression of you.

Once you complete the interview and card process HR will present you to the Board of Directors and then to the company membership at the monthly company meeting. You are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting, however if you are unable to be there HR will contact you with the department’s decision.

If you are voted in as a Probationary Member the next step is Orientation. This is where you get assigned to your duty crews, issued your uniforms and protective equipment, issued your Rookie Manual, fill out all the paperwork required for membership, and get issued your station e-mail and computer accounts.

Orientation is usually the third Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. after the Company Meeting is held. We only conduct one orientation a month so please ensure you are available for this date.

Please ensure that the phone number and e-mail you provide in your application are valid for our HR specialists to contact you.  If you don’t answer unrecognized numbers, have no voice mail, or don’t respond to our messages we will have no choice but to defer your application
